Application process

The essential first step is to register with us by completing our online Expression of Interest Form

We accept student applications throughout the year.

Our busiest student intake time is January to April, which is when the bulk of the intake for the following academic year is processed.

1

Complete Expression of Interest

This is a short online form to give us the basic details for you and your child. It ensures you will be contacted by our Admissions Team when we next have an Open Day or run some new student Assessments.

Please note that the time between completing the form and being called for assessment varies enormously, depending upon the time of year and whether we expect to have vacancies in the year group you are applying for.

2

Student Assessment

You will be invited to bring your child for assessment. You will usually also have the opportunity to tour the school at the same time, if you have not already done so.

The QR500 Application and Assessment Fee is payable at this time.

More details of the assessment process can be found here.

3

Assessment Result

All assessment results are sent by email to parents. You can expect to receive this within 2 to 3 working days of sitting the assessment.

The result will typically be one of the following:

  • firm offer of a place in school, with a confirmed class and start date
  • successful outcome in the assessment, but remaining on the waiting list until a firm offer of a start date can be confirmed. Note we do not assess students unless there is a realistic prospect of a place becoming available, but it can take time to establish the exact number of vacancies we have available
  • a regret that we are unable to offer a place
4

Acceptance of Offer

Where a place is offered, the offer is valid for one week. If it is not accepted within that time the offer lapses so that we can accept the next person of our waiting list.

To accept the offer of a place, parents are required to pay the Registration Fee to guarantee their child's place.

5

Before Starting

An AWIS Application Form must be fully completed, signed and submitted to the School Office before a child can be allowed to commence school.

More detailed information on the supporting documentation that needs to be provided with the Application Form can be found on our Admission Requirements page.

I love how it was always a small family. For my daughter, i needed a small community for her to feel safe in, and i found it in AWIS. She is very excited to go there every morning. It's her sixth year now. I love the staff, Mrs Sharon the principal is so open minded, and always hears our concerns. They need to work more on the facilities and the stability of the staff. But they are doing a good job so far.

I have 3 kids in AWIS and I and them are so happy here. For sure there can be things that can be done better, the Principal is always keen to hear suggestions. What I most value is the staff, very compromise, strict and at the same time caring about kids. Foundation stage is an approach by learning trough play and excitement. IPC Curriculum gives older kids the opportunity to keep with learning with real interest. Even trough hard times on pandemic, school show us they are giving 100%.

I would highly recommend AWIS. One of the things that struck me most about the school is the high value given to developing a well rounded child with a strong foundation of community. Although many may regard the school size as a negative point, for me, I see it as a positive one especially for the young ones to integrate in a smooth manner. I appreciate all the staff efforts in making AWIS a wonderful place for our children!
