AWIS is the hidden gem of schools in Qatar. We are fully committed to delivering excellence through an international education with the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Our success is due to our team of committed and enthusiastic staff and our supportive international community.
We provide a professional and welcoming work environment where all staff are supported and valued. Career development is widely available, and internal promotion actively encouraged. This is all supported by relevant professional development opportunities and mentoring.
We welcome applications from inspirational and enthusiastic teaching and support staff who wish to shape lives.
Types of Staff We Employ
As a UK-style Primary school, our teaching staff mainly consist of classroom teachers supported by Teaching Assistants. See our Class Teacher page for details of existing staffing. Class Teachers will typically be native English speakers, holding a recognised UK teaching qualification (or equivalent) and with experience of the English National Curriculum. Teaching Assistants must be fluent in English. Some are parents of students in school, while others are employed from the local community.
Our Arabic and Islamic Studies teaching staff follow the curriculum prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. All staff are native Arabic teachers with relevant professional teaching qualifications and experience.
We also have a small Admin Office, dealing with all non-teaching functions such as the School Office, financial control and facilities maintenance.
Working Conditions
Our teaching staff follow school timings and an annual calendar broadly similar to the dates for students, working three terms per year and five days per week. There are some additional commitments beyond this for preparation week, training and special events.
Hours for the administration staff are more varied, with some commitment to working during the school holidays.
Current Vacancies

We also accept speculative CV's throughout the year, which we will keep on file for future opportunities, as they arise.
